SoftPlayer is built with a zero-telemetry architecture. We do not collect, transmit, store, or sell any personal data, media libraries, or usage tracking information.

Data Collection & Processing

Because SoftPlayer runs locally on your device, we process data entirely offline. Here is what we handle:

Local Media Parsing SoftPlayer indexes your local audio and video directories on device to organize and display playlists. This file metadata is kept purely in local memory and does not leave your device.
App Preferences Your custom settings, playlists, theme configurations, and playback states are stored securely within your device's isolated application storage using local database structures.

Required Permissions

To deliver modern background audio and offline playback, the app requests specific system level access:

Device Files Access Needed to scan and index local media files for playback. The app requests appropriate storage permissions based on your platform's security standard.
Background Playback Service Allows the audio engine to keep your music running persistently when you exit the app, lock your screen, or multitask.
Wake Lock Ensures the operating system does not force deep sleep states that cut off background music streams.
Internet Access Used strictly if you decide to paste a remote stream URL to play it directly. The app does not connect in the background to execute data logs or trackers.

No Third-Party SDKs or Ads

We do not include third-party tracking software, advertising SDKs, analytic frameworks, or telemetry tools in the code. Your media consumption behavior is entirely private to you.

Children's Privacy

Since the application has no capability to collect, receive, or store any personal information, it complies fully with COPPA and global child protection frameworks.

Security & Data Protection

We prioritize the security of your local data. Since SoftPlayer functions entirely offline, your information is protected by design:

Sandbox Isolation All application settings, custom playlists, and playback states are stored within the secure sandbox environment provided by the operating system. This isolates SoftPlayer data from other apps on your device.
No External Transmission Because the app has no backend database or telemetry service, your files and playback history are never uploaded, shared, or exposed to the network.
Secure Media Streaming If you manually stream media via a URL, the app utilizes secure transport layer protocols (HTTPS) where supported to keep requests encrypted.
